Dr Zsuzsa Erdei, stem cell biologist, has been working in the field of human stem cell research for 15 years. She is an expert in iPS technology and disease models based on stem cell derivatives. Her research group was the first in Hungary to create iPS cells in the field of human stem cell research, and they have achieved excellent scientific results internationally. The so-called iPS cells are of great importance for drug development and toxicological studies. For 10 years, he has been working on multidrug transporter proteins, which are of great importance for drug development and pharmaceuticals.
He has been involved in the cultivation and differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells and the development of methods for the differentiation of liver, nerve and cardiac muscle cells from human iPS cells. As a Principal Investigator, he was awarded a Postdoctoral OTKA grant in 2019 and has also been awarded several international training and conference grants during his postdoctoral years. She has gained laboratory management experience in the field of medical diagnostics, where she became an expert in laboratory design principles and quality management systems, and has the skills of a Quality Management Lead Auditor (ISO9001, ISO15189, GLP/GMP). She has gained experience in the authorisation of Phase 1/2 human stem cell therapy clinical trials, in the development, design and implementation of professional protocols over the years.
