Stem cell biologist with a background in chemistry and a PhD in biomedical sciences. She is the co-founder of Hungary’s first human embryonic stem cell laboratory and currently leads the Human Pluripotent Stem Cell Laboratory at the Molecular Cell Biology Group within the Institute of Enzymology, HUN-REN Centre for Natural Sciences. Dr. Apáti is a recognized expert in human pluripotent stem cells and stem cell–based disease models. She has played a leading role in developing iPSC-derived systems to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying psychiatric disorders. Her recent research has contributed significantly to the understanding of disease processes using stem cell–based platforms. In addition to her scientific work, she is an accredited PhD supervisor at both Semmelweis University and Eötvös Loránd University, where she has trained numerous early-career researchers in the field of stem cell biology.
